On Completion and Renewal

As we come to the chaotic end of the year, when everything has to be done, it becomes too easy to lose sight of the big picture. When we are caught up in the minutiae everything becomes urgent. We lose sight of what we have achieved and think only of what is still to be done.

But in the midst of this, now is the best time to set aside an hour or two and reflect on the year. Making a list of your achievements will have you see how far you have come.

 

 

REFLECTING

on what has been
will create space for the new.

 

 

Beginnings, endings and new beginnings are the powerful cycles that generate true renewal. Honouring those stages has them be complete.

So, take time, for yourself and your team, to list and recognise all you have achieved in the past year. Take a moment to celebrate and acknowledge how much you have done and how far you have come. This way you go into your break satisfied and complete on the year and ready for the new year to come.

 

Some questions for reflection:

 
  • What have l/we achieved/completed in the past year?
  • What am I/are we most proud of from the past year?
  • What would I/we like to be acknowledged for/acknowledge ourselves for?
  • What challenges have I/we overcome? 
  • In what way have I/we grown over the past year?
  • What do I/we need to complete on (let go, finish, draw a line on…) from the past year?
  • What do I/we want to take into the new year?
